A GIFT FOR GIVERS
Donating blood and knowing that
you’ve potentially saved a life is a
reward unto itself. But for the
months of May, June, and July,
givers get a little back. Nexcare is
giving a package of its Comfort
Bandages, specially branded with
the word “GIVE” on each, to
everyone who donates during this
critical period of the year when
blood shortages occur most
frequently. You’ll get yours at your
place of donation, or by visiting
nexcare.com.

QUIZNOS’ HONEY MUSTARD
CHICKEN SUB
Your mouth might be watering for a
Quiznos Honey Mustard Chicken sub,
but your heart and hips are hoping
you’ll order a little more wisely: The
regular sandwich has 880 calories, 43
grams of fat, and 1,775 mg of sodium.
Get the same taste by ordering the
small sub with no cheese, and ask the
server to use one-quarter the usual
amount of dressing. Add extra lettuce,
red onion, and tomato for flavor. This
will shave the sub down to a more
reasonable 360 calories, 10 grams of fat,
and half the original amount of sodium.
If you want a heartier lunch, make it a
combo and opt for a water and a
garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

an overgrowth of yeast that normally lives on skin. Spots show up because too
much of the yeast blocks tanning. See your doctor for a cream to get rid of it.

HUNGRY GIRL: 200 UNDER 200
Who says keepi ng to a budget isn’t easy? You can now
be more frugal with calories than you thought possible
with the recently released cookbook
Hungry Girl: 200
Under 200.
In it, author and self-described “foodologist”
Lisa Lillien has whipped up 200 recipes under 200
calories. The book follows Lillien’s first title,
Hungry
Girl,
which topped bestseller lists. Ourtest kitchen
prepared her version of a summer favorite, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Potato
Salad, and was impressed with its delicate dill flavor. The Razzle Dazzle
Chocolate Raspberry Cupcakes were a hit, too. A former yo-yo dieter, Lillien
began sharing the healthful and tasty food choices that helped her finally
keep the weight off. You can sign up for free daily e-mails at
